Costa Rica is known as the land of Pura Vida which translates to "Good-Life" and is a phrase you will find anywhere at anytime. If you learn to say "Pura Vida" in Costa Rica all will be fine. Thanks for following the blog and stay posted.

As I sit here finishing up my grades and comments, I periodically give myself a break and think of myself under the canopies of the rainforest. I am so looking forward to this adventure with my Watkinson community.
ReplyDeleteI'm really excited about this soon to be adventure. Can't say for sure what I am most looking forward to. I think this will be a wonderful time for us all.
ReplyDeleteWe started out early 4:15am at Bradley and we are now in beautiful San Jose, Costa Rica. The city is beautiful and as I type this I am roughly 5,000 feet above sea level. Lunch was magnificent and plentiful (I highly recommend the sea bass) and we are checked into the La Condesa Hotel and getting ready to swim. Having a great time.
ReplyDeleteSAM STEINBERG-

ReplyDeleteWell just arrived in Costa Rica. Had one of the best lunches ever- it was nachos with fresh vegetables and beans, We checked into the hotel, and went swimming. The time difference is going to need some getting used to. Tomorrow is the Homestay days and it should be interesting to say the least.
ETHAN-Oh, flying into Costa Rica. It was truly something to remember. I remember seeing the mountains, and valleys. It was absolutely beautiful. Than I met Tom. He's a boss. He is so funny. I can't wait to see what comes tomorrow! Except for the 3 hour bus ride. I think Ive done enough traveling today. It was worth it. I bet this will be too!
ReplyDeleteGRACE-Well flying into Costa Rica was pretty long but I slept the whole time so that was great! The lunch I had was amazing and usually I'm not the biggest fan of trying new things, but the guava juice was great and so were the beans! Later we went swimming and that was a blast, I got to know a lot more people at Watkinson. I also got a new animal name based on what I'm like, I was named the blue butterfly. I can't wait for new days and adventures to come!
ReplyDeleteCHRIS WEBBER- When we were flying to Costa Rica it was only a two hour flight, but it seemed like it was longer. When we got to Costa Rica it was really crowded. I am rooming with Ethan Harrington and I got a animal name it was Jaguar. I can't wait for the other days to come to spend time with friends and eat a lot of food.
ReplyDeleteMaegan F.-The flight to Costa Rica was long. I was anticipating warm weather and plenty of sun. I'm still waiting. There's a lot of rain, thunder, lightning, and clouds. The time that I've spent indoors though has been fun. We met with Diego who told us our animal names. I learned that I was some kind of monkey. I'm waiting for tomorrow and what it will bring.
ReplyDeleteBella- My favorite part of this trip so far is meeting everyone a little more in the show. We have done a lot of activities, even though we just got here. There are many instructors. Mason was only here for one day but he was fun to play Frisbee with. Tom, where can I start. He is very wild. He loves to have fun and scream. Diego he loves his show. He made us stand up and talk about ourselves in front of everyone. It was fun and nervewrecking.
ReplyDeleteKyle S.-Tom and Go Diego Go are so much fun having a great time. Breakfast is amazing and looking forward to the fun and scary activities that we are going to set out to do.
ReplyDeleteRachel K- It is really fun, and we are all having a great time. Last night we were given new nicknames that depicted an animal we represented. I was chosen as the sloth. The foods been great, and this morning we are checking out of our first hotel. Can't wait to see what we will accomplish today.
ReplyDeleteRachel, it sounds like you are having a great time. I remember when your mother and I were in Costa Rica, it was painful to watch how slowly the sloth moved. Have you seen one yet? So.....why is that your nickname?
DeleteJulie S.- My favorite part of the trip so far is trying to understand the native language. Some of it is different from what we learned in Spanish class. The warm weather is awesome. Everyone on the trip was given a nickname/animal name to be called for the trip. Mine was a Orapendilla. The animal was meant to represent your personality. So of course I got the loud bird.
ReplyDeleteTatyana K- Even though we've only been here for one day so far, i can already tell that this will be an extraordinary experience for all of us. I really enjoy the warm weather, we all got an animal nickname given to us for the trip, mine was "The Jesus Christ Lizard". Like Julie said, the name you got assigned to you was meant to represent your personality. I can already tell that this whole group will have a very strong bond by the end of the eight days.
ReplyDeleteStrother- Its hard to believe its only been a day. The country is beautiful, the people are amazing, and don't even get me started on the food. The people make us feel so welcomed. Unlike the U.S the immigration agents are actually friendly. I can already tell, its going to be incredibly hard to leave this beautiful country.
ReplyDeleteThinking about you lots and hope you are having an awesome time. What animal nickname were you given?
DeleteHaven M.- Waking up at 3:00 in the morning to catch the plane was very difficult, but it was worth it!I realize this when I saw how beautiful the island was, tasted the amazing food, did some swimming and heard about the amazing adventures ahead of us. I can't wait.
ReplyDeleteI am glad to hear you are all safe and enjoying yourselves. Keep an eye on the chaperones for me. Did they get animal names too? Have fun!
